Fix Your Back Pain for Good
Don’t Let Pain Hold You Back From What You Love.
In almost every small group training class, the instructor says: "protect your back. "You shouldn't feel it in your back." Or sometimes, “this is bad for your back, so don’t do leg workouts.” This creates a cycle a fear, compensations, and doesn’t solve anyone’s problems
We think that's the problem, not the solution.
Your back isn't fragile. It's undertrained and not being used to being loaded properly. Do you dead lift 300 pounds, but “blow out” your back picking up the dog toy off the ground? That’s a back that isn’t ready to handle the loads of life in addition to training. And that moment often becomes a cycle of “deadlifting is bad for me, so I’ll stick to upper body.”
Here is the cycle: someone told you your back is fragile → avoid loading → you get weaker → increased likelihood of injury → confirmed belief that lifting is bad → protect it more. It’s the same cycle, every day. We have to break the cycle.
Your back adapts and responds to loading — just like every other part of your body. The goal isn't to protect it forever. It's to prepare it.
Imagine lifting, doing yard work, and running marathons without worrying about back pain.
This is for you if:
You’ve had “on and off” back pain for years
You’ve tried traditional PT and your clam shells and bridges aren’t cutting it.
Massages and cupping helps for a few days, but the pain comes back.
You’re a lifter, runner, or active adult who has been taken out of what you love due to pain.
You were told to rest and it didn’t help.
You are scared to “throw out your back.”
Hear From Our Patients
“Megan was very knowledgeable and helpful. She helped me understand the pain better, laid out a recovery plan and helped me get rid of the pain. I had sciatica problem and it was impacting my everyday life, including going to concerts, road trips etc. I can happily confirm I’ve done multiple roadtrips and attended multiple concerts with no pain since the treatment! I took a 8-week package, and Megan was very accommodating and enabled me to attend sessions around my work timings. Would definitely recommend anyone with pain to check out this place!”
Pavan C.“I struggled with chronic lower back pain that was keeping me from being as active as I want to be. Megan took the time to determine the root cause of my pain and put together a plan that was personalized to my needs. She is extremely knowledgeable and took the time to explain the reasons behind the different aspects of that plan. She even helped me overcome my fear of dry needling. With her treatment, I am back to doing the things I love without worrying about my back. I highly recommend Megan and Unlimited Physical Therapy in Durham!”
Kim B.“Megan is the best there is, plain and simple. I’ve been working with her for over a year recovering from a herniated disc in my low back, and the results have been phenomenal. She works with you to set clear goals, develops a structured & individualized plan, and adapts accordingly with progress. She has gotten me back on my feet (literally) and feeling more athletic than ever. If you’re considering PT, look no further!”
